Surveys
Baseline Surveys
Baseline
surveys were conducted in order to understand the health needs of
the poor and the current utilization pattern of health services,
before developing a suitable insurance scheme for them. The
objective of the study was to make a baseline evaluation of the
disease and hospital utilization and expenditure patterns in rural
and urban areas in Andhra Pradesh. The findings were documented and
used to develop a unique insurance product and delivery mechanism
for the poor.
Hysterectomy Surveys
A survey was conducted on the reproductive health of
rural women focusing on the hysterectomy rate, social, psychological
and physical causes and effects of hysterectomy and other
influencing factors. The hysterectomy rate was found to be higher
between the ages of 18 to 45 years.

Survey on Migrant Labourers
A survey was carried out aimed at gathering baseline
data on migrant labourers' family profiles, health conditions,
migration patterns and the life of a child under such conditions
such as child care, health, schooling and future. HFF undertook this
survey with the intention of providing basic healthcare and
nutritious food, and to improve the literacy levels of children from
